The Skyfall theme felt like classic Bond, so I really thought we were going to get Craig Bond in his prime and see the real Bond, but instead they went straight for the faux-depth of "Bond is obsolete." That pissed me off. He's ready to globetrot with gadgets and get the job done no matter the cost but still keep his Bond charm and wit about him. He's more sophisticated, but he's a ruthless killer primarily.īy the end of those two, he's rubber-banded to the middle and he's finally the suave and competent Bond we all know and love. In Quantum he swings back the other way after Vesper's death-cold and calculating and not really fun at all. He's too cocksure in the first-unsophisticated and a blunt force instrument-and not completely devoted to his service. Quantum is great as a one-two punch with Casino, where we see the formation of Bond as we know him.
